RIASSUNTO
Questo intervento vuole dare conto dell’emergere di una tendenza che, partendo dagli oggetti, fenomeni e progetti legati al desiderio di autodefinizione di sé, può essere estesa alla comprensione delle modalità con cui oggi ci si relaziona ai nuovi media. Analizzando in maniera problematica l’attività su Facebook di un piccolo campione di persone che ha accettato di tenere nello stesso periodo un videodiario, si può cogliere un fenomeno di discontinuità che riguarda non solo le nuove modalità autoritrattistiche, ma anche più in generale il modo in cui il soggetto si relaziona oggi con la rete. Nonostante infatti il social network preso in esame ricordi i diari ricchi di segreti e intimi pensieri (tipici per lo più dell’adolescenza), il racconto di sé qui sfuma, per lasciare spazio piuttosto all’urgenza di mostrarsi connessi. L’aggiornamento incessante dei contenuti postati, e la conseguente mutevolezza dei profili che rende difficile rileggere quanto scritto nel tempo, determinano un ambiente poco adatto all’autonarrazione. SUMMARY This article focuses on emerging trend that, starting from objects, phenomena and projects bound to the desire of self-definition can be broadened to understand the ways in which today people relate to the media. By analyzing the activities on Facebook by a small sample of people who accepted to keep a video-journal in the same period, one can understand a phenomenon of discontinuity which affects not only new ways of self-portrayal, but also more generally the way in which the subject relates with the web today. Despite the fact that this social network reminds of diaries full of secrets and intimate thoughts (typical for most teenagers), telling about oneself fades away, to give way to the urgency of online appearance. The incessant updating of posted content and the resulting mutability of profiles, which makes it difficult to read what has been written over the time, make this an environment poorly suitable for self-narration. |
